The House of Blues San Diego is one of a rare breed of venues which allows fans to see some of the biggest names in music up close and personal in an intimate, yet stellar setting. As a result, the House of Blues San Diego has become one of the area's top spots for live music performances. One of 13 venues which make up the House of Blues franchise, the House of Blues San Diego is currently owned by Live Nation - a giant in the entertainment venue industry. The House of Blues brand was the brainchild of Isaac Tigrett.
The House of Blues San Diego first opened its doors to the public in 2005. Located in the city's bustling downtown area, the House of Blues San Diego features "The Bead Wall," an entire wall covered in Mardi Gras beads from New Orleans--a feature which distinguishes the House of Blues San Diego from its sister venues. However, like the other House of Blues venues, the House of Blues San Diego has stuck to its roots by displaying the “Crazy Quilt” and keeping a box of Delta Mississippi mud underneath its stage - a gesture to ensure that each performer will have the "spirit of the South" beneath their feet.
Boyz II Men, Deadmau5, Snow Patrol, Talib Kweli and N.E.R.D. are just some of the famous names featured on the House of Blues San Diego schedule in the past, with plenty more lined up for the future.
